May 16th Photowalk

For our May 16th meeting, we won’t be at the library. We’ll be at the Arboretum in State College. There’s no official time set, but you should find some of us up there by 6 or 6:30pm.

The Arboretum is at the corner of Park Avenue and Bigler Road. The entrance to the parking lot of the gardens is on Bigler Road. Visitors arriving by automobile from distant locations should exit the I-99/Route 322/Mount Nittany Expressway at Park Avenue and proceed southwest to Bigler Road.

May 2nd Meeting

Our next meeting is this coming Monday, May 2nd. We’ll be at the Hollidaysburg Area Public Library at 7:15pm.
The Competition Committee will be conducting this meeting. They have chosen one of our contest categories for us to judge amongst ourselves before we have the official judges take a look at them. Critique and constructive feedback are essential to learning how to create better photographs.

March 21st Meeting

This coming Monday, Ken Becker will show us images he has taken inside the Hollidaysburg Car Shops. Railroad buffs won’t want to miss this one. The meeting starts at the Hollidaysburg Area Library at 7:15pm.

March 7th Meeting

On March 7th, photographer Pat Little will be our speaker at the Hollidaysburg Area Library. Pat has been a photojournalist and sports photographer for the AP and the Centre Daily Times. He has taught photography classes at Penn State. He has also judged our club competitions a few times over the year. On Monday, he’ll critique some of our images and give us insight into what makes a good photograph. The meeting starts at 7:15pm.

Jan 4th Meeting

Ken Becker has been photographing the workings of the Car Shops for Curry Rail for a few years now. On Monday, the 4th, he’ll share with us a collection of these photos. We’ll be at the Hollidaysburg Library at 7:15pm.

May 18th Meeting

Our meeting on the 18th will be at the Hollidaysburg Library at 7:15pm. We’ll be having a table-top night. We’ll work on macro/still-life/etc. Bring some flowers, knick-knacks, or anything else that might be interesting to photograph. Also, it would be great if some people brought lighting or light tents.
