The Hollidaysburg Library is closed on January 1st, so we’ve moved our meeting to the 8th. We’ll be in the community room at 7:15pm. Brandon Hirt will give a presentation on winter landscape photography.
For our next meeting we are going to have a meet and greet style meeting. We have some new members and we thought it would be nice to get to know each other better. So members should bring their camera and share some images. We want to see what everyone else shoots with and what they like to shoot. You will have the chance to talk with everyone about why you love photography.
We’ll be in the library on the 19th. It’s time for our annual business/planning meeting. We’ll elect officers and approve a budget for 2017. We will also be looking to the members for program/outing ideas. Festivities start at 7:15pm.
On Monday, the 19th, we’ll be in the library at 7:15pm. The artist judge from our spring competition will be critiquing some of our photos. He’ll show us what judges look for in a good image.
Since the 1st Monday in September is Labor Day, the library will be closed. We will have our meeting on Tuesday, the 6th. Brandon Hirt will be giving a presentation on using Lightroom to enhance your images.
On Monday, we’ll be in the library for a “Favorite Photographer” night. Some of our members will be introducing us to their favorite pro photographers. We’ll look at their work and see what makes it stand out. We’ll see what we can learn from looking at their portfolios. The meeting starts at 7:15pm.
This coming Monday, Ken Becker will show us images he has taken inside the Hollidaysburg Car Shops. Railroad buffs won’t want to miss this one. The meeting starts at the Hollidaysburg Area Library at 7:15pm.
The turn-in for the spring print competition is April 4th. The special category this time is “Three.”
If you want a jump on the fall competition, the special category will be “Weather.”
On March 7th, photographer Pat Little will be our speaker at the Hollidaysburg Area Library. Pat has been a photojournalist and sports photographer for the AP and the Centre Daily Times. He has taught photography classes at Penn State. He has also judged our club competitions a few times over the year. On Monday, he’ll critique some of our images and give us insight into what makes a good photograph. The meeting starts at 7:15pm.
