Ken Becker has been photographing the workings of the Car Shops for Curry Rail for a few years now. On Monday, the 4th, he’ll share with us a collection of these photos. We’ll be at the Hollidaysburg Library at 7:15pm.
On November 16th, we’re back at the Hollidaysburg Library at 7:15pm. We’ll be learning the results of the fall Projected Image competition.
The next meeting won’t be at the library. We’ll be at The Film Center on Monday, November 2nd at 7pm. Britt will be showing us what’s new in the world of photo equipment.
On Monday, the 21st, we’ll be back in the Hollidaysburg Library. Dave Hammaker will be giving a presentation on print making. He’ll give us tips on how to prepare your images and get good prints. We’ll also talk about the many surfaces on which you can get your photos printed. The meeting starts at 7:15pm in the community room of the library.
We won’t be meeting at the library on the 7th due to the holiday. We will have a photowalk in downtown Bedford on Tuesday, the 8th. The plan is to start at the Bedford courthouse at 5:30pm.
Back in April, some of our members went to Cresson to photograph the old abandoned Cresson Ridge Motel.
Our meeting on the 18th will be at the Hollidaysburg Library at 7:15pm. We’ll be having a table-top night. We’ll work on macro/still-life/etc. Bring some flowers, knick-knacks, or anything else that might be interesting to photograph. Also, it would be great if some people brought lighting or light tents.
At our banquet on the 4th, we learned the results of our club competitions for 2014. Congratulations go to Randy Klobetanz for winning Photographer of the Year.
This weekend is the Blair Arts Festival. Four of our members have won awards in the Juried Fine Art Exhibition.
Dave Hammaker won 1st place in Photography with “Waves of Stone.”
Eric Gaston won 3rd place in Photography with “Bulls Creek.”
Brandon Hirt won an Honorable Mention with “Lemon House Stars.”
Andy Dierks won and Honorable Mention with “Cold Water Run.”
